Pete Holmes - Alpine Aficionado 10 Jul 202600:31:17

Pete's life has been defined by teaching, leading and guiding in the alpine environments of this planet. He is happiest on cross country skis, whether skating the tracks or carving a few tele turns in the back country on a blue bird powder day.  So you could easily assume that in this conversation he regals the listeners with epic tales of blizzards, frozen extremities and punctured thermarests. Conversely he speaks of beautiful relationships, the power of outdoor learning and the difficulties of managing clients/students in extreme environments. Most recently Pete's snow based adventures have taken him to northern Italy where he guides clients on bespoke cross country ski adventures.

Robyn Fox = Silver Fox 30 May 202600:30:51

An adventurous life is a gross  understatement when listening to the rich stories that have defined the life and work of Foxy.  Robyn's early years  were defined by whitewater kayaking and sailing excursions in Victoria, whilst still at school. Foxy's passion for whitewater kayaking and rafting continued as a young adult undertaking over thirty multi day trips down the Franklin River in Tasmania, the first as a nineteen year old.

After such an upbringing Robyn was perhaps destined to work in the outdoors, where she could share her passion, deep connection to country and innovative ideas to students and colleagues  around the world.   So she packed her backpack and headed to Sudan and Thailand  where she designed and developed outdoor education programs in international schools.

Bec Fox = Wild Fox 27 Mar 202600:43:07

In this conversation we have the absolute pleasure and privilege of chatting with Bec Fox, a self proclaimed 'wild fox'. Foxy's relationship with the natural world began from very young age, free roaming the  family farm which her parents were regenerating. This deep connection to the land led to Bec's love of nature, going ahead and  establishing nature camps for city kids from age thirteen.

There was little doubt with this upbringing Bec was destined to work in the outdoors however as she reveals here this path was far from traditional.  Foxy shares four decades of tales encompassing : naked solos; leading and mentoring  and a deep spiritual connection with the land. Something she delights in sharing with the next generation of Foxy's.

Vertical Direction Nature Connection - John Beede 14 Jan 202600:38:35

In this episode we chat with John Beede  who is a world class adventurer and one  truely great human.  John has climbed the 7 Summits, has written books, is a motivational speaker and currently facilitates men's retreats, yet in this candid conversation punctuated with humility and humour he  opens his soul to our audience.  It is so beautifully uplifting to hear such an accomplished mountaineer, perhaps an outdoor guru, share stories of natural connection and transcendence in the world, grounded in moments of personal discovery and enlightenment. Yet to have the skills and stamina to summit the Grand Teton (WY) USA  in a day with no tent, no pro and one rope suggests that John is indeed a mountaineer of significant standing. But loves to fill his  downtime on expeditions gold panning in his underwear !

Intrigued, enjoy the chat
