It didn’t matter if you did or didn’t collect G.I.Joe, if you were familiar with the toy aisle in the 70s and beyond you know a thing or two about the toyline dedicated to A Real American Hero. This line had everything, soldiers, sailors, ninjas and a half snake-man, G.I.Joe had a little something for everyone. Add in a little PSA to the cartoon and now you know… and knowing is half the battle!

I whole-heartedly believe that Imaginext is one of those toylines that adult collectors wish existed when we were kids. Big bold designs, great gimmicks, Imaginext captures all the fun that toys are supposed to be while making the figures themselves so unique that they are definitely collectible.

With the completion of one Haslab (Ahsoka’s ship The Ghost) and the start of another (Marvel’s Giant Man), Crowdfunding is becoming a more familiar mainstay for collectors. More and more collectors are becoming familiar with toymakers using crowdfunding sites like Kickstartter and Indiegogo to provide them with new toys they would otherwise have never seen.

I feel pretty confident in saying that most collectors that came up in the 90s had their fair share of Toybiz figures. From Batman to Spider-Man to Xena, Toybiz really covered a wide spectrum of toys that probably appealed to most of us in some way shape or form. This episode was recorded last week, but we wanted to take a moment to express that we are extremely saddened to have lost two greats in the wrestling world this week. Terry Funk and Bray Wyatt were taken from us too soon. Rest in Peace.

From as far back as the current crop of collectors can remember, wrestling has been a staple in our lives and one of the main methods of play when we were younger. WWF, AWA, NWA, WCW, all these federations (and many more) probably produced a lot of influence on our imaginary conflict. For years 3D sculpting and printing has been slowly becoming more familiar and more accessible to the public, more specifically, toy collectors.

Replacement parts, add-on kits, character conversion selections, the possibilities are endless. The idea that we can now literally design, sculpt and print a fully functional action figure is amazing, and something that we’ve only scratched the surface of.
