| Jon Lullo from Down to Earth Approach and Even If It Kills Me Podcast | 04 Sep 2024 | 01:14:35 | |
Pleased as punch to welcome my new friend (and hopefully yours) Jon Lullo on the podcast. He sang and played guitar in Down to Earth Approach who were active in the early 2000's and on the legendary Vagrant Records in their heyday. We spoke about his experience in the band that is well documented in a new podcast called "Even If It Kills Me". The podcast is an honest and revealing look at the experience of playing in a band that did a lot of cool things, but never "made it" in the traditional sense of the term. Jon and I chat about that, the Warped Tour and so much more. | Tim Kasher from Cursive | 28 Aug 2024 | 01:11:33
We have a damn legend in the game on the pod this week in the form of Tim Kasher from Cursive! They are releasing a new LP on Run For Cover and of course, jumped at the opportunity to talk to Tim about his screenwriting career, looking back at his catalog as well as the Omaha scene growing up (a lot of 311 talk, no joke). Go spin their entire catalog for goodness sake! | Ace Enders from The Early November | 26 Jun 2024 | 01:09:17
Happy to have the incredibly prolific indie/emo musician Ace Enders on the pod this week! He is the main singer/songwriter for The Early November and let's be honest, if you grew up in the 2000's you know that already. Ace is a open and honest human and he shows that here as we get very introspective about his thoughts on nostalgia, ego and things coming naturally to people. The Early November just released a new LP on Pure Noise Records so go listen to that right after you finish this episode. | Stephen Christian from Anberlin | 12 Oct 2022 | 01:01:27
"Like Hoobastank...but doesn't suck" are some immortal words a friend of mine said about Anberlin and I will never forget that. I was pleased as punch to tell Stephen that over our internet connection conversation (to be clear, I like Hoobastank). We get in deep with the feeling of being an outcast, the difference between "shows" and "concerts" and the business side of music. It's a wide ranging discussion and think you will find some value in here. Enjoy! Subscribe to the podcast on YouTube See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

| Bjorn Dossche from Rise and Fall, Chain Reaction and Wrong Man | 28 Sep 2022 | 01:25:48 | |
Rise and Fall is an often overlooked, but incredibly important band to the punk and hardcore scene not only in the US but worldwide. Hailing from Belgium (you can laugh at my outro to this episode saying how much I love Swedish hardcore and then after the fact LOL'ing but deciding to leave it in), Bjorn Dossche sang for the band and I had to bring him on the show. We discussed a lot of things including the Belgian hardcore scene, US touring and keeping things comfortable. Let's get it! Check out his new band Wrong Man! | Geoff Rowley, professional skateboarder | 21 Sep 2022 | 01:12:08
One of my favorite skaters of all time, Geoff Rowley, is on the show this week. To say I am thrilled is an understatement. His parts in legendary skate videos like 411 and others not only got me stoked on his talent but the music he chose was always a bit different and always hit the punk/hardcore/metal side of things real hard. I knew his affinity for the music runs deep, but how deep I didn't know until now. We discuss his feelings around being a video game character, Discord Records and so much more. Enjoy the listen! | Chris Higdon from Elliott, Frontiers and Falling Forward | 14 Sep 2022 | 01:24:48
HAPPY 10 YEARS TO THE PODCAST! All hyperbole aside, this podcast has changed my life for the better and thanks for coming along this journey and love letter to independent music. We make it VERY special by having a white whale guest hanging out this week in the form of Chris Higdon from the almighty (and recently reunited) Elliott! I chased him down for the past 3 years and only recently started popping up in podcasts, so I HAD TO HAVE HIM. We talk about his past bands (Falling Forward, Frontiers), dressing up at shows and being low profile. It was everything I wanted and more. Hope you dig! | Dan Tracy from Deafheaven and Anthony Anzaldo from Ceremony | 07 Sep 2022 | 01:05:59
Live From Outbreak Fest 2022 we have two amazing humans on this episode. First up, I have Dan Tracy from Deafheaven on to discuss our shared history playing in bands, why no one talks to drummers and tour tips. Right after that, Anthony Anzaldo from Ceremony (fresh off an airline losing his key-tar) comes in to chat about the longevity of the band, how UK audiences receive the band and playing in Cold Cave. | Georgia Rawson from Dscvrd Magazine | 31 Aug 2022 | 01:16:35
Let's talk print media! One of my favorite publications around is called Dscvrd Magazine and it's editor in chief is a new friend of mine, Georgia Rawson! The magazine is celebrating it's 10 year anniversary and I wanted to pick her brain about all things journalism, supporting bands from the start and not being "afraid" of the business implications of music. I learned a lot and I think you will as well. Enjoy! Recurring Sponsors: See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

| Jesse Barnett from Stick To Your Guns | 17 Aug 2022 | 01:22:17 | |
Welp, it's been close to 10 years since I had Jesse on the pod so it felt like a great time to check back in with him and look how both he and the band have grown and changed over that time. We get in depth about his conflicts on social media, the importance of his work with the community bookstore he runs called All Power Books and their increased popularity in Europe. | Adam McGrath from Cave In | 27 Jul 2022 | 01:09:20
Cave In are legendary. I don't use that word lightly but very few bands have been able to sustain their place in the music scene, evolve sonically and continue to put out some of their best material to date. That being said, I had to chat with Adam McGrath to discuss his life in the Merrimack Valley hardcore scene, early tour stories and being stubborn. It's an all encompassing discussion that I love to have and hope you enjoy! See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

| Joe McMahon from Smoke or Fire | 06 Jul 2022 | 00:57:09 | |
This episode is for fans of Fat Wreck, Hot Water Music and being popular in Europe. Joking aside, I am very pleased to bring you this discussion that Joe McMahon from Smoke or Fire and I had one afternoon! I had always been a fan of the band but never really knew much about their origin stories, why the band had to change their name and how they signed to Fat Wreck Chords to begin with. | John Scharbach from Give and Shining Life Zine | 29 Jun 2022 | 01:02:19
Fresh back from quite a time in the UK, I couldn't take a week off because frankly...this conversation was too cool not to share immediately. John Scharbach from the defunct DC hardcore band, Give, is on the pod this week. He also runs a great publishing company entitled Shining Life Zine that you gotta check out as well. We go deep on pursing art, skateboarding and his life in the military. Peep it and enjoy! See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
| Don Devore from Ink and Dagger, Frail and Collapsing Scenery | 22 Jun 2022 | 01:10:12 | |
I am proud to bring you this very metaphysical chat with Don Devore who is the guitarist for Ink and Dagger, Frail and Collapsing Scenery (among many other projects). Ink and Dagger were huge for me personally and I celebrate their entire catalog and Frail was such a force of nature for the early screamo/hardcore scene that I was stoked Don wanted to talk about that. We go in about how chaotic the Ink and Dagger experience was, creating art at all costs and of course, Vampires. Love the discussion and I hope you do as well. | Chris Simpson from Mineral and Mountain Time | 15 Jun 2022 | 01:18:12

| Brett Campbell from Pallbearer | 12 Jun 2024 | 01:09:35 | |
So incredibly stoked to welcome Brett Campbell from Pallbearer which is one of my favorite bands doing this style right now. It's melodic, it's doom, it's everything you could want from heavy music and I had to bounce around his brain to be able to find out more. We discuss the Little Rock scene, being a technical player and finding your way. He's an introspective and self depreciating dude which made for a fun discussion. I brought Patrick on the show to discuss his south OC upbringing, ska zines and how Limbeck sat squarely at the intersection of being "too punk for country and too country for punk". He also tells us of some wild advertising stories that he and his friends participated in. Listen and enjoy! See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
| Emma Boster from Dying Wish | 06 Apr 2022 | 00:57:40 | |
Boy oh boy do I love Dying Wish and in turn, I had to have Emma Boster the vocalist of said band on the pod ASAP. Emma was a great hang and enjoy our discussion! See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
| Kevin Baker from The Hope Conspiracy | 05 Jun 2024 | 01:15:01 | |
Welcome back to The Hope Conspiracy and to celebrate their new LP that just hit, we had the vocalist Kevin Baker on the show. He's always been a somewhat mythic figure so was happy to be able to ask him questions about his love of hockey, 90's metalcore and coming up in the Boston scene. Despite his nihilistic music, Kevin is a damn sweetheart and had a lot of fun. We also touch on his other bands like Piecemeal, All Pigs Must Die and the often overlooked, Bars. Enjoy the discussion!
