Episode 10 of 100 Games and a Funeral is probably one of our best yet! Well, maybe it's more of a middle of the pack episode. We promise it's not the worst episode we've made at the very least.
Your two favorite gamer boys get some Doritos, Mountain Dew, and fresh acne this week while diving deep into the World...of Warcraft.
Game kinda stinks now but boy oh boy was it great at one point. That's life though. The joy of youth slipping right through your fingers and you don't even realize it until 10 years after it's done slippin'.
Careening right towards the the funeral I guess. We still have 89 episodes to go though so I won't count my gravestones before they're laid.

We're coming at you HOT with Final Fantasy X. This is a game and we played it. I'm gonna warn you up front here... we don't love it. I don't know what's wrong with us. Probably too dumb for this type of deep JRPG. We still talk about it and if you're down to listen to two guys speak with great confidence about game systems they don't fully understand....well... then you're in the right place.
Knuckles is a weird word. Kay-nuck-less seems like how it would be pronounced if you read it phonetically. It's not though and we're all going to have to learn how to deal with that.
We stink at this game! Just a couple old guys with 300ms+ reaction time running into enemies at the speed of a hedgehog.
Not our greatest hot takes this episode but ALSO not our worst. Take this all into account as you press the play button.

We played Secret of Mana this week. The secret is a sword or something I think...don't quote me on that. I don't have much for this one. It's another JRPG and you can make a solid assumption on our takes about it.

In the year 202X, a pair of podcasters named Podboys were created. Modern triple A video games created the Podboys to defeat old games that people like but actually aren't very good. However, after being completely defeated by awful hot takes, old video games created eight of their own podcasts to counter the Podboys.
That didn't make any sense but I ain't working on it any more.

Welp, all good things must come to an end. Which is why we're NOT ending the podcast. Instead we're just going on a little break prior to season 2 kicking off.
We have months and months of painful contract negotiations to deal with. I know we refuse to even step into the booth for less than 2 million an episode, so please be on standby while our lawyers and agents fight for the best possible deal.

I was trying to think about movies that have a banjo, and I could only think of Deliverance. Now... I can't in good conscious make a reference to squealing like a pig in this here description of a fun and enjoyable game for the whole family.
That said... IT'S BANJO KAZOOIE! It's Kazooin' time and you're along for the ride. We got jumping, we got jump slams, we got a bird, we got collectabes.
We really discuss the heck out this thing. I think it's one of our longest episodes to date.

That's right gamers. This week we're diving deep into the serendipitously placed knee high grass of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.
It gets wild in this episode for sure. There is a guy who controls hornets with his dance moves or something. It's insane.
If I was able to control insects I would force a colony of ants to do my job for me while I stayed at home. It's a win/win when you consider that ant's love work and I love not doing work. Everyone could be extremely happy with that arrangement. Unfortunately, I'm unable to control insects (as of right now).

What's happening you stuck-up half-witted scruffy-looking nerf herders. You ever think about the Jedi's being the least effective leaders possible? They literally keep getting full on beaten into hiding by the Sith/Republic. Is the light side of the force just inherently incapable of any form of long standing peaceful government? Does it only have effectiveness as a rebelious foil to the true power of the galaxy?
Anyway, we're making the whatever run in however many parsecs and you're along for the ride.
This game doesn't have much in the way of gameplay so the fun facts corner is in overdrive this time around. We discuss Star Wars, life, the 80s, valid nostalgia, life, rambling, and some yawning.

This ain't CIV 4 though listener. This is CIV 1. The first civilization. That's right. We have definitive proof of the first ever complex society...number 1...the first... Göbekli Tepe? Ancient floods? Atlantis? No idea about those. This is an entirely different thing altogether. I won't elaborate.
Not our best because once again we don't know what we're doing and struggled to wrap our tiny brains around this big brained game.
Next week we get back to what makes this podcast great. Games that we completely understand and enjoy that require no effort at all for us to engage with.

This game has it all! Drama, romance, romantic drama, Krogan, Geth, romance, smooching, smooching drama. It's a real attack on the senses, but in a good and cool space way.
